I can't believe it has only been three weeks since the marathon. Okay, 24 days to be exact... not that I'm counting. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday and sometimes it seems like a million years ago!
When I'm itching to run, that's when it feels like just yesterday. My knees are still a little crunchy, my hips tend to give me a little trouble. Yea, I know, I know, it goes back to my (inconsistent) training. Am I mentally ready to run again? Absolutely, and am doing a little bit more and more. Am I physically ready? Clearly not quite.
I've now transitioned into the "Well... you really could have done better" mindset, which of course then turns into "When are you running another one?" I don't have my answer for that quite yet. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to be running a February Half Marathon. If I don't, my streak is over. If I do, my streak might be over anyway, if I run before my body is ready. Now if we're talking a race in March, I should be ready... right?
